Neighborhoods of D6

D6 is the abbreviation for San Diego City Council District 6 and it contains the six great neighborhoods of Clairemont, Kearny Mesa, MCAS Miramar, Mira Mesa, Rancho Peñasquitos-Park Village, and Sorrento Valley.

Clairemont is a community within the city of San Diego which has a population of about 81,600 residents and one of the largest District 6 neighborhoods.

Kearny Mesa is a major industrial and commercial center occupying a central location in America’s Finest City. The community meets employment, business and retail needs for a large portion of the city.

Established in the late 1960’s, Mira Mesa has a population of 72,000, including young homeowners, families, military members and students. Mira Mesa is one of the largest neighborhoods in the Sixth District.

Rancho Peñasquitos is a residential community nestled at the base of Black Mountain. The area is recognized for its quiet, suburban feel and award-winning schools.

Sorrento Valley is known as a center for high tech, biotech and scientific research.
